This strawberry frozen yogurt is sweet, creamy, and has a soft-serve texture that rivals store-bought versions. Even better, you can make it in minutes using a food processor or high-speed blender.

Strawberry frozen yogurt recipe without an ice cream maker
Ice cream is one of my family’s favorite desserts. For a quick, mid-week treat I make soft-serve–style frozen desserts in the food processor or high-speed blender. My kids think it’s a treat, while I appreciate that it’s made from wholesome ingredients and comes together in minutes. This strawberry version uses frozen strawberries, Greek yogurt, honey for sweetness, and a touch of lime zest for brightness. If you have a vanilla bean on hand, scraping in the seeds adds depth of flavor.

Healthy strawberry frozen yogurt
This frozen yogurt is naturally sweetened and high in protein when made with whole-milk Greek yogurt. The mixture can be enjoyed immediately from the processor like a thick milkshake, or you can freeze it briefly to reach a soft-serve texture. If frozen for too long it will become firm—simply let it sit at room temperature until scoopable.

How to make strawberry frozen yogurt
- Prepare the frozen strawberries first by pulsing them until coarsely chopped in a food processor or blender.
- Add chilled Greek yogurt, honey, lime zest (optional), and vanilla. Process until the mixture is thick and creamy. If using a high-speed blender, use the tamper or stop and stir as needed.
- Use whole-fat (about 5%) Greek yogurt for the best texture and flavor. Chilling the yogurt briefly in the freezer for 20–30 minutes before blending helps the finished frozen yogurt set more quickly, but it’s not required.
- Lime zest brightens the flavor; add ½ teaspoon of lime juice for extra tang if desired. Fresh vanilla bean seeds elevate the taste, but vanilla extract works well too.
- Because this recipe contains no stabilizers or corn syrup and isn’t churned, it can freeze solid if left too long. If that happens, allow it to soften at room temperature for 15–20 minutes before scooping.

Easy Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Recipe (without an ice cream maker!)
Ingredients
- 2 7-ounce containers (about 1 2/3 cups) plain whole-milk Greek yogurt (5% fat)
- 10 ounces (about 2 heaping cups) frozen strawberries
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon lime zest (optional)
- Seeds from 1/2 vanilla bean or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Optional: Place the yogurt containers in the freezer for 20–30 minutes to chill. This helps the frozen yogurt set faster but can be skipped.
- Add the frozen strawberries to a food processor or blender and process until the berries are coarsely chopped.
- Add the chilled yogurt, honey, lime zest, and vanilla. Process, scraping down the sides and stirring as needed, until the mixture is thick and creamy. Serve immediately or transfer to a loaf pan and freeze 20–30 minutes, stirring once or twice, for a firmer soft-serve texture.
Notes
- Eat right away for a milkshake-like texture or freeze briefly for soft-serve. If frozen solid, let it soften at room temperature for 15–20 minutes before scooping.
- Whole-fat Greek yogurt gives the best texture and flavor.
- Lime zest brightens the flavor; add 1/2 teaspoon lime juice for extra zing if desired.
- Use vanilla bean seeds for extra flavor or substitute vanilla extract. To use a vanilla bean, split it lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with the back of a knife.
