Where I Shop for Gwen: Top Baby Clothing Brands I Love

Gwen has a better wardrobe than I do. Shopping for baby girl clothing is so much fun, and I get asked about Gwen’s outfits all the time. Below I’m sharing the best baby clothing brands I’ve discovered and why I love them.

Some of these brands are pricey, but I justify the cost by buying fewer, higher-quality pieces so each outfit gets more wear. I avoid saving special outfits for rare occasions—Gwen wears everything often to lower the cost-per-wear. I also try to prevent stains: Gwen eats breakfast in pajamas, and sometimes I let her have dinner in just a diaper to keep clothes cleaner. That way I can pass items on to friends and family when she outgrows them.

What to Know About Buying Baby Clothes:

Baby sizing is inconsistent across brands. Many items run large—sweaters in particular tend to be generous. For example, at 12 months Gwen fits well in 3-6 month sweaters (she’s around the 50th percentile for weight). I’ve also noticed that the difference between 2-4 month shorts and 12 month shorts can be surprisingly small. Some brands, like Zara, tend to run on the bigger side.

Best Baby Clothing Brands:

The Blueberry Hill

The Blueberry Hill is my go-to for high-quality knitwear. Their hats and sweaters are beautifully made, and they even offer matching styles for mamas and babies. I first found this brand locally at Daytrip, Jr in Kennebunkport.

Noralee

Noralee makes stunning dresses for babies and little girls—very feminine, well-crafted styles. I’ve seen this brand at Daytrip, Jr and on Noralee’s own site.

Monbebe

I adore Monbebe for its delicate, well-made pieces, though it can be hard to find. I usually shop Monbebe at Greenberry Kids in the UK. It’s on the pricier side, but the store runs seasonal sales—I often buy sale items late in the season to save for the following year.

H&M

H&M is budget-friendly and covers all the basics plus some fun pieces. For newborns I bought multipacks of onesies, and I’ve found really cute baby knee socks with bows there—adorable accessories that are surprisingly hard to find elsewhere.

Hanna Andersson

Hanna Andersson is the best place to shop for matching family pajamas. Their sets are soft, durable, and great for holiday photos or cozy nights together.

Everly Grey

Everly Grey makes incredibly soft matching Mommy-and-Me pajamas. I wore their pajamas and robe through my third trimester, at the hospital, and during the early months with Gwen. The design works well for nighttime diaper changes, so we bought extra nightgowns for Gwen.

Aosta

Aosta, another label I shop for at Greenberry Kids, is full of delicate dresses and floral prints—perfect for special outfits or photo days.

Angel Dear

Angel Dear makes sweet rompers, dresses, and bubble outfits that are comfortable and easy to wear. Their prints and soft fabrics are favorites around here.

Rufflebutts

True to the name, Rufflebutts adds ruffles to the back of onesies, bathing suits, and other pieces—cute and playful for little girls.

Baby Gap

We switched from footed pajamas to two-piece pajamas from Baby Gap when putting on footies became tricky. The two-piece sets are easier for changing and more practical for toddlers on the move.

Amazon

I try not to over-rely on Amazon, but it’s where I found a darling tutu used for Gwen’s newborn photos that still fit at her first birthday. I also bought accessories like headbands and a small crown from Amazon that worked well for special outfits and photos.

Etsy is my favorite place to find adorable bows and handmade accessories that add personality to simple outfits.
