Welcome! Alli from Made with Happy is here to share a cheerful DIY craft perfect for autumn.
With fall arriving and Halloween approaching, a project that blends festive fun with simple design felt just right. This Candy Corn Lima Bean Wreath is bright, affordable, and easy to make. We believe a good wreath should be attractive, straightforward, and budget-friendly — and this one checks all those boxes. Here’s how to create it.
Supplies:

- Straw wreath base
- Two bags of large lima beans
- Yellow and orange spray paint
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Ribbon for hanging
Directions:
Start by dividing one bag of lima beans in half. Lay the beans out in a single layer on newspaper or a painter’s tarp to prepare for painting. Spray one half with yellow paint and the other half with orange. Allow the beans to dry completely before assembling.

Once dry, begin gluing the beans to the straw wreath. Start at the outer edge and work toward the center, gluing rows of the same color to create the candy corn stripes. If the wreath will hang against a wall or door, you don’t need to cover the back, so focus on the visible front. Arrange the beans in slightly diagonal rows for a dynamic look, or use straight rows or a random pattern — all will look cute.

Continue gluing until the visible portion of the wreath is fully covered. When finished, add a ribbon for hanging, and your festive Candy Corn Lima Bean Wreath is ready. This project is economical and can be made for under $10.
