Hi y’all! Today I’m sharing an easy tutorial for making patriotic rosettes. These rosettes were part of the decorations for a red, white, and blue party I hosted. They’re simple to make and add a festive touch to any celebration.

Rosettes are one of my favorite paper decorations. You can create beautiful results with just a few sheets of paper. While it’s possible to make rosettes entirely by hand, I like to use my Cricut Explore to add scalloped edges and cutout details for a neater, more polished look.
How to Make Rosettes with Cricut

I used a design that includes scalloped edges and a diamond cutout for extra detail. The Cricut scoring stylus helped create crisp, even folds quickly. Scoring the paper before folding makes assembling the rosettes much easier and gives a professional finish.

For each rosette I used six paper sections: three blue and three red. Fold each scored piece into an accordion, then attach the pieces together end to end with a glue stick. Once all six sections are glued into one long strip, join the two ends to form a circle.

After forming the circle, push the center down so the folded sections fan evenly into a rosette shape. To cover the center and give a finished look, cut a decorative circle—I added a star cutout—and glue it over the center using a hot glue gun.

Use hot glue to secure the center medallion firmly. For hanging, flip the rosette over and hot-glue a small loop of ribbon to the back. This makes it easy to hang the rosette on walls, garlands, or as part of a centerpiece.

To help you follow the steps visually, I included a short video demonstration. Watching the assembly in real time makes it easier to see how the folds line up and how to glue the sections together evenly.
Final Result
I love how these turned out — they added a cheerful, patriotic touch to the party decor. The layered scallops and center medallion give the rosettes dimension and visual interest while keeping the project quick and budget-friendly.

These rosettes are versatile — use them as wall decor, table accents, or as part of a photo backdrop. They pair well with other patriotic decorations and can be customized in size and color to match any theme.
Until next time, happy entertaining!
